Square Enix released a statement earlier today explaining their Tecmo takeover plan. According to the plan Square Enix will purchase Tecmo stock at a rate of 920 yen per share, representing a 30% premium over Tecmo's August 28 closing price of 708 yen.

It everything works as planned then Tecmo will get a similar status to Taito, falling under a Square Enix holding company and maintaining its company organization and brand.

The Tecmo Board of Directors has until September 4 to approve or reject this offer. If rejected, Square states, "We will withdraw our offer."

HAAAA HA HA HA! Yes, YES! Grow, devour those who dare oppose the might of SQARE-ENIX, who bring the pinnacle of gaming to the world! Seriously though, does this mean Ryu Hayabusa will be in Kingdom Hearts 3?

Blah... this is probably the reality for the gaming industry. They can't survive by just making video games anymore. They need to integrate other media to put food on the table. <.<;

In all honesty the only games that made Tecmo is DoA and Ninja Gaiden. S-E doesnt even need those series(s) to be successful, but it would be nice to see them incorporate story/characters of Tecmo in other games.
