The Eidos Montreal's reboot of Thief went straight to the top of this week's UK top 40 charts despite its less than stellar reviews.

Not to take anything away from their achievement but one thing that might explain this is the lack of games for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Kinda surprised that it does so well even when it pretty much got slaughtered in the reviews. Hopefully they'll release a patch that fixes the most glaring issues.

Haha, but by contrast Lightning Returns didn't even place in the top 20 despite being only 3 weeks old. It just stings. I really wanted Thief to do well to continue Square's string of hits lately (Tomb Raider, A Realm Reborn, Bravely Default, FFXHD) so its tough to watch this happen.
