Senior product and marketing manager, Sakura Minamida at Square Enix has just revleaed that Final Fantasy Type-0 will be coming to the PlayStation Vita PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Ever since the original PlayStation Portable release in Japan, you guys have never given up on it, raising your voices in an effort to see this title come to North America and Europe. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s coming and it’s going to be in HD. Stay tuned for more details in the future.

Update: Sony and/or Square Enix has initially mistakenly announced announced that the game was coming for the PS Vita.

Originally released in Japan in 2011 for the PlayStation®Portable handheld entertainment system, FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 will be coming to the West as an HD remaster for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One®, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft. In addition, FINAL FANTASY AGITO, already available in Japan, is confirmed for a Western release on iOS and Android devices .

I got really hyped when I saw that it was coming for the PS Vita :( The system could really have benefited from such a release.

Yeah that was some grade-a trolling by Square Enix / Sony.

You haven't missed the live show. They announced this before it started (no idea why they would do that).

thank gawd. im at work and ive been streaming E3 for two days straight. i thought the music act was the ending... Also, can i get high res shots of the above images? I wanna change my MAC's background at work. currently have child of light up, but Type-0 takes precedence.

PS what was the release date if they said? I'm watching live right now but cant seem to go back for the announcement.

kula shakerz    2014-06-10, 20:48 pm

They haven't announced a release date. I'm guessing 2015. Oh and I found a HD version of the logo image.

Would have been cool to play this on the Vita but I guess I'll have yet another excuse to get myself a PS4.

I wonder if they're just swapping out the textures and turning on some AA or if they're actually creating a decent port.

I think the main reason for them to not release it on the Vita is that they're desperate to get a game out on the new consoles.

This is awesome news! Depending on when the release date is, I'm thinking of the white Destiny PS4 to go along with Type-0! Since KH2.5 is coming out in December, I wouldn't expect this before Summer 2015, but who knows?

kula shakerz    2014-06-13, 14:47 pm

I'm guessing spring 2015 at the earliest. That white Destiny PS4 looked awesome. I have been playing the Alpha for a couple of hours and I'm definitely getting the game.
