Alongside Revenant Wings, it seems that Square Enix is also working on the Final Mix version of Kingdom Hearts II. The Final Mix is, we assume at this point, intended for an international release--though 'international' to Square Enix generally means re-release in Japan--featuring some sort of incorporation of card-based combat.
The announcement came in the form of a magazine scan that no one seems to know the source of. Will KH2: Final Mix, actually see land beyond Japan? Will the card system be used to replace the KH2 battle system? Will it be any good?
