Square Enix is putting its trove of iOS games on sale until January 5, 2014. These titles include acclaimed remakes of the first five Final Fantasy games in addition to original content like The World Ends With You: Solo Remix and Chaos Rings. It's a welcome move on the part of the company, whose content typically retails at prices that are a bit higher that the norm for the iOS ecosystem.

More than 70 iOS games are on sale, including:

  • Final Fantas IV, $7.99, usually$15.99
  • Final Fantasy V, $7.99, usually $14.99
  • Chaos Rings, $2.99, usually $7.99
  • The World Ends With You, $8.99, usually $17.99

So, if you need me, I'll be busy downloading The World Ends With You!

I noticed that there are in-app purchases in The World Ends With You... what are they? I don't want to have to spend more money on a game after buying it.

Looks like the in-app purchases are extra songs and crafting items. I do agree that games that force you to spend extra money just to able to beat them suck.

I looked around and saw that they had Chrono Trigger there too but it was only for the iPhone :(

I went ahead and bought TWEWY though :) Its pretty cool but some of the graphics/artwork seems to be very compressed or low resolution on a retina display.
