Earlier today, Square Enix released the first trailer of their Final Fantasy VI remake for iOS devices. While its hard to tell because of the low quality of the trailer, it does seems like they have updated the graphics a bit and replaced the old 16-bit sprites with new ones.
No definite release date has been given but it will be available for iOS and Android devices this winter in Japan.
I, for one, am looking forward to this re-release as I have only played the PlayStation 1 version which had horrible loading times.

Looks awesome! I see that lots of people complain about the updated graphics on youtube but it looks good to me. I would have prefered to play it on a Vita but iPhone works too.
video is low res, so are the graphics overhauled like FFV ios/android? or the same as the GBA version?
I have seen a couple of screenshots and it looks very similar to the FFV remake.
jut did some googling and the remake looks AMAZING. Unlike the FFV remake, the character models in this one look more like the original pixel art incarnations rather than overly cartoony replacements. NOW... i will get this for iOS, but i hope it comes to android so i can play on my tablet as well!
