The release of a graphically updated, but not significantly remade, Final Fantasy VI on Android smartphones earlier this month was marred by user reports of a game-breaking crash, typos, and other bugs. Square Enix updated the Android version of the game to correct those mistakes this week. Taken from the most recent update notes dated Jan. 21, Square Enix says:
- The game no longer crashes during the cutscene showing the fight between Kefka and General Leo.
- The icon for Sabin's Blitz ability now displays correctly.
- A misspelling of the term "Esper" has been corrected.
- Various other minor bugs.
Hopefully, with a corrected version of the game now available on the Google Play Store, iOS users won't have much longer to wait. If an updated version of the app was submitted to iTunes around the same time, then it could mean that iOS users may see one of the most acclaimed entries in the Final Fantasy series become available to their platform as early as next week!

I only write an article once every...six months or so now, it seems, so I'm quite glad this is the one I chose this time around. Final Fantasy IX has just released on Google Play and The App Store for Android and iOS devices. Even better, the game is 20% off ($16.99 USD) from now until February 21st, so pick...
Hope the iOS version gets released soon. But I think I'll wait a few days and check out the reviews before I make a purchase.
Most of the reviews on the Google Play store are positive so it couldn't have been that bad.
