In the Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories Ultimania Guidebook, a seven page interview with Series Director Tetsuya Nomura has shed light on new information regarding the upcoming sequel Kingdom Hearts II.
The following is a translation of one of the questions and Nomura's answer.
Question: At the end of Riku's story we see a young kid standing in Twilight Town. Who is he?
Nomura: He is a new character to appear in KHII and he holds a very important part to play too. I will refrain from too much detail but he is suppose to be a playable character. Besides him, many of the secret characters from the previous installment's secret movies will appear in KHII. I plan to explain what the situations depicted in the secret movies signify.
Nomura is making reference in this passage to the so far unnamed Blonde Haired Character, or BHK as he is commonly reffered to by KH fans, that has been shown in various magazine scans. Later in the interview Nomura confirms that the BHK is indeed the character using two keyblades in the Another Side, Another Story/Deep Dive movie shown at the end of Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix.
Also of note is the fact he mentions the other Characters, such as the Blindfolded, will appear in KHII. It is unknown at this point if that character will be playable, or even who that character is.

A new scan is making its way around the internet and boy, is it worth seeing. Japanese magazine V-Jump has leaked this scan of the next Kingdom Hearts game. I'm at a loss for what it might mean; but it's still fun to look at and fantasize about. Hopefully, TGS 2007 will loosen the lips of our favorite game company......
