The first details regarding The Last Remnant have finally been made available. The game is confirmed to be a single player RPG and is being developed for the Unreal 3 game engine. The use of the Unreal Engine suggest that the game will go multi-platform (I'm guessing PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360).

The game will feature a turn-based battle system like the one we are used to from the Final Fantasy games however it will also contain Quick Time Event sequences (like the ones in Kingdom Hearts) where the player must press a combination of buttons with a correct timing to defeat enemies. In addition to the main character the player's team is composed of multiple of soldiers. Battles are large-scale and can involve up to 70 enemies at once.

The game will be released simultaneously in both Japan and North America sometime during the 1st half of 2008. No information regarding the European release is available at this point.
