Having released on May 10, 2007, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions has been available to the Japanese market for just over a month now, competing in an arena dominated by the Nintendo DS. Out of the twenty top-selling games on the market in Japan right now, 14 were DS games, 4 were for the Wii, and 1 was for the PS2, leaving Tactics the sole PSP game on the list.

Overall, the game has thus far captured nearly 250,000 units in Japan. This numbers pales somewhat compared to the numbers displayed by Revenant Wings, which has sold an estimated 450,000 since its release in April. The War of the Lions dropped to fourth place in its second week of release, and has since dropped to eleventh.

The War of the Lions is due out in North America later this year, and will feature a variety of new content and additions.
