Square Enix takes over Eidos

Square Enix has just fully completed the Eidos takeover this week. As it did so, it also revealed the number of sales for some of it's multi-million dollar franchises.

The Final Fantasy series obviously tops the list with over 85 million units sold. Dragon Quest comes in second with 47 million, and Kingdom Hearts comes in third with a modest 12 million units sold. Now, for the new Square Enix (previously Eidos) titles. The Tomb Raider series has sold 30 million copies in it's 12 years and Hitman has sold over 8 million.

The big question here though, is what Square plans to do with its new multi-million dollar games. Sadly, the answer is not here yet. But I will make sure to keep track and let everyone know when the information is available.
