Dengeki conducted an interview with famous Final Fantasy Music Director, Nobuo Uematsu. In the interview, they discussed his upcoming "Tour de Japon" concerts, his current projects, and much more. Uematsu was very pleased with the idea of having concerts that take place in several cities throughout Japan. This was because many of his fans tend to come from all over the nation, and this way he could reach a wider Japanese audience. In addition, he mentioned that the concerts will only accomodate up to 2,000 people in comparision to 5,000 people in his previous events. The reason for the change was because fans all the way at the back would never hear his music as clearly as those in front, thus robbing them of what Uematsu felt was the best way of listening to his music. Uematsu felt that his music was much more powerful in a live orchestra format than in a soundtrack (CD) format. He continued on by stating that the concerts would hold music from Final Fantasy I to Final Fantasy XI. Moreover, a new track from either Final Fantasy XII (FFXII) or Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (FFVII:AC) would also be played at the events. He has yet to complete both projects and so the decision is still undecided.
In regards to his upcoming projects, he talked about how he will continue making music for the Final Fantasy franchise even if he were to lose out on other music related opportunities. FFVII:AC would feature a brand new score with only a few tracks from the original Final Fantasy VII (could include "One Winged Angel" and "Aerith's Theme"). The upcoming CG movie would feature music that fit into the categories of rock, classical, and folk. He also said that he was working on another unannounced title by Square Enix.
Finally, Uematsu discussed how his band, The Black Mages, would come out with a new album very soon. Their previous album was dedicated to remixes of Final Fantasy Battle themes.
