Square Enix released a few new details about the day/night system that will be featured in the PlayStation 2 remake of Dragon Quest V. The feature will give gamers a different feel when they are roaming about and when they are in battle. At night, enemy encounters will be harder and NPCs (Non-Playable characters) will act differently than they do in the daytime. Similar elements will also be found in Dragon Quest VIII (being developed by Level 5, makers of the Dark Cloud series). Dragon Quest V will hit Japanese stores sometime in Spring, 2004.

In related news, Square Enix took part in the 19th Next Generation World Hobby fair in Osaka, Japan. At their booth, the company showcased many titles including Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Dragon Quest V, Kenshin Dragon Quest, and Slime Dragon Quest. The fair is set to take place in other Japanese cities including Fukuoka and Nagoya.
