Square Enix has stated that Dragon Quest V, the PlayStation 2 remake, will be released in Japan on March 25, 2004 for 7,800 JPY. The original Dragon Quest V was released in 1992 for the Super FamiCom (Japan). It allowed gamers to have monsters as their allies, and the story spanned over three generations. The title's success in Japan was one of the reasons why Square Enix decided to publish a remake of it for the PlayStation 2. Dragon Quest V will contain complete 3D environments, houses, and monsters. Gamers will also get the opportunity to use a 360 degree camera within houses. The camera will enable them to look at the whole house from top to bottom. The roof and ceilings of each house will become transparent so that gamers can see each floor without having to visit them. In addition, Dragon Quest V will have music from a full orchestra lead by the NHK symphony. This game is sure to fill the gap of Final Fantasy XII whose release date was postponed in Japan to this Summer.
