Sq-Ex announces new PlayOnline Plus services

Square Enix announced that it would start a new service titled "PlayOnline Plus" from February 26, 2004 in Japan. The service would allow you to have an email address with your character's name from Final Fantasy XI. There is also a FreindList Plus option which allows you to see which of your buddies are online at the time. The feature also allows you to block certain individuals from contacting you. This new service will cost 300 JPY ($2.81 USD) per month, and for an additional 100 JPY ($0.94 USD) one can transfer their email address to another account. The new email provided with this service can be used for outside pursposes aswell.
