According to The Magicbox, Square Enix may be developing a new PS2 action adventure game featuring Cloud as the lead character with gameplay similar to Devil May Cry. So far, this is just a rumour, and a highly unlikely one too. Recent media and press releases regarding Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children gave room to a lot of speculation concerning a possible remake of Squaresoft's popular game.
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is a roughly 80 minute DVD movie to be released by Square Enix. The story takes place 2 years after the events in the game. The movie will be released in Japan and probably worldwide this summer.
