Dragon Quest V sells very well on opening day

Square Enix shipped 1.3 million copies of Dragon Quest V yesterday to stores throughout Japan. 722,078 units of the game were sold within its first day of release. The shipment is expected to be sold off by the end of today. Dragon Quest V was also the number one selling game of yesterday and most probably of today aswell.

In related news, the official guidebook for Dragon Quest V will sell in Japan on April 23, 2004 for 1,333 Yen.

UPDATE: As of March 28, (Three days after its release) Dragon Quest V has sold 936,948 copies which is approx. 69.6% of its total shipment.
