The Final Fantasy game series has been around for over a decade now, and just recently, the entire series reached a world wide shipment of 40 million. Very impressive to say the least. It is rare for a game to be demanded this much; even the past games are still shipping strong.
Granted, this isn't game sales, but the number of games that have been shipped to the stores.
So far, around 25 million units have been shipped into Japan alone, with North America nearing 10 million, and Europe bringing up the rear with around five.
Square says that game shipments have still been going strong with the recently released FFXI nearing 200,000 already, and the nearing release of FFX to Korean gamers will only help the numbers grow further.
Congratulations Square!
