Square-Enix has launched the Official Website to the upcoming Grandia III. Featuring new information on the game's story, setting, character, and battle system, as well as many new screenshots and a few gameplay demo movies within. For now, only two of the game's characters, Yuuki and Alfina, have character profiles. It is assumed Emerius will be added at a later date.

Also available are new details on the story of the game. Grandia III will revolve around the 16 year old aspiring pilot Yuuki. In secret, he builds his own aircraft, to escape his boring homelife and travel the skies, just like the legendary King of Pilots. On his quest to find the parts he needs to complete his craft, Yuuki encounters a preistess by the name of Alfina.
Alfina is in fact a High Priestess as it turns out, in charge of listening and relaying the words of the Holy Beast, which many believe to be the world's one true deity, to the masses.
It was three years earlier that Alfina's elder brother, Emerius, held the title of High Preist. But after his mysterious disappearance, his rank and duties were passed on to her. It appears that Emerius has changed from the kind and benevolent man he once was into a cold and desolate man. Emerius now believes that men should be ruled by men alone, not deities, and to accomplish his goal of becoming one of, if not the only, Leader of Men, he seeks the fabled sword known as Godkiller.
But is it possible this is Emerius' true will? Or is there someone else behind the scenes, manipulating the unfolding events in his favor? Alfina believes the latter, and seeks out her lost brother to prove that he is not the evil man people describe now, but still the kind soul he was when she last saw him.
And so, Alfina sets out to find her elder brother, with the young Yuuki acting as her guardian throughout the journey.
Grandia III will be available in Japan sometime this summer. A release outside of Japan has not yet been confirmed.
