Square-Enix recently updated the Official Site of its upcoming RPG Grandia III to include two new background music samples streaming on the site, as well as an addition to the site's Character section. All this, plus the return of an old RPG favorite.

The new character is a 28 year old Sailor by the name of Alonso. He leads a wild life when on land, gambling, drinking, and skirt chasing. However once on the high seas, Alonso is the Perfect Sailor, trustworthy and more than able. His weapon of choice is, of course, a harpoon.

As previously posted, Grandia III will feature skycrafts and airships prominently. Today, more information was revealed, as it was announced players would be able to freely control their airship on the World Map, a feature missing from Square-Enix RPGs since the days of the PSone. And if players would like a closer look at a town below, they can use the Airship's Telescope feature to peer down and see what is going on.

Grandia III will be available in Japan on August 4th for ¥7980 JPY ($74.66 USD). A release outside of Japan has yet to be confirmed.
