It may seem like the November release date for Advent Children might have been cancelled considering that a release date has never been fully confirmed. According to a Sony representative, the delay may have something to do with rumours about the UMD version getting special features about Crisis Core but another source suggests this delay is to give Advent Children a cinema release.

Although both are a possibility, Sony delaying a DVD release for 3 months seems over the top for UMD extras but an extra 3 months would increase the possibilties of better DVD special features. As for a cinema release, Destination Films who work specifically on cinema distribution, have the right to release Advent Children. This would be similar to the Sony/Destination Films of Cowboy Bebop, Sony did the DVD while Destination Films did a limited cinema release of Cowboy Bebop.
