Crisis Core is the fourth entry in the Compilation of Final Fantasy, and the first installment of the Final Fantasy series to appear on the PSP. Crisis Core will focus on the exploits of Zack, the 1st Class Soldier who was romantically involved with Aerith. The story will chronicle the events leading up to the destruction of Nibelheim and subsequently Zack’s death.

Labeled as an “action RPG” game, Crisis Core employs real-time battles, following the experimental trend of the Compilation. Hajime Tabata serves as director of this installment, with series regular Tetsuya Nomura handling character designs.
