The Crisis Returns

Crisis Core, the next piece in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, is picking up the pace as more information makes its way to the internet. Probably the most surprising is that Zack, the spiky-black-haired soldier, has a last name: Fair.

A slew of new and known characters are making the rounds as well: Lazard, the executive head of SOLDIER, Angeal Hewley, Zack’s mentor and wielder of the Buster Sword, Genesis, the mysterious super soldier from Dirge of Cerberus, and the iconic Sephiroth. It is important to note that in the most recent scans, Angeal, Sephiroth, and Genesis square off on what appears to be the surface of Sister Ray in Junon.

What’s the history behind this dynamic trio? Nomura failed to say, but did mention that it was in the past from the game’s perspective, but among other things he did mention in the myriad of articles and scans that the game is roughly 70% complete, should be playable at the May party, and an announcement on the release is due out soon.

Battles in Crisis Core will take place in a modified real-time setting, where the character accrues energy for the Digital Mind Wave, which eventually allows the playable character to execute devastating moves and tactics.

This probably isn’t breaking news to say the least, but everyone’s eyes could do with the visual treats attached, courtesy of Crisis-Core.net!
