In case you missed it--last week's rumor turned out to be true, and Final Fantasy VII is available for download and play on the PS3 and PSP as a PSOne Classic. Be sure that your memory card is large enough, Final Fantasy VII clocks in at a wonderful 1.3GB.
Also worth mentioning is the release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete on Blu Ray in the U.S. Be sure to get out there and get your copy before it's gone. The movie is selling like hot cakes. Hot cakes, I say!

Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy VII Remake a few months ago during Sony's E3 press conference. Today they showed off the first gameplay at the PlayStation Experience keynote. Oh and the PC port of Final Fantasy VII that they trolled us with last year is available on the PlayStation 4 today!

how much does it cost through the playstation store? i'm seriously wishing/thinking about getting a PS3 because there is no love for the Wii... and FFCC, FFMLaaP, and the Chocobo series just do nothing for me

Sweet, is it just me or have the recent FF games not been up to the level of 7-9? I never got much into X, or X-2...but I have to admit I have XII but haven't played it yet so I cannot comment on that one.
