FFXIV Director Talks Specifics

The Sept.09 Issue of Famitsu Wave features an interview with the Director of Final Fantasy XIV, Nobuaki Komoto. Below are a few highlights:

The World + Eorza is actually a region of the world where FFXIV takes place, and as a whole, is smaller than Vana'diel. The world featured in FFXIV is actually named Haiderin. + Aiming for a more 'high-fantasy' feel. More stylized, more modernized than FFXI.

The Growth + FFXIV features no EXP or LVL System. Focuses more on Job growth, in a system similar to Final Fantasy Tactics. + In addition to Jobs, growth focuses heavily on weaponry, changing the way you play and grow as a character.

The Player + Will be adaptable for single-player or group environments. Players will always have something to do. + Considering Large Scale battles, but focus it to tailor the game to the player (Solo = Single enemy, Group = Multiple enemies) + A Beta phase is planned for the game, and is expected to last longer than the initial four month beta held before FFXI's launch.

Lastly, Komoto mentioned there is a secret message in the game's initial E3 trailer. What is it?

No one knows...yet~
