Gamespot has released the best games of 2002 as stated by its readers. For the PlayStation 2, Kingdom Hearts came runner up in the PS2 game of year category. It came 2nd only to Grand Theft Auto : Vice City. In the best PS2 RPG category, Suikoden 3 took the prize. Kingdom Hearts did not fit into the category and instead fit into the category of action/adventure. And in that category, it came second once again only to GTA : Vice City.
