Just a quick update about Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster—the game's US release saw over 250k copies sold for PS3 and PSVita in the month since it was released. NPD's latest numbers show the game just barely being outpaced by the Japanese launch (340k copies sold), but handily beating out the launch numbers for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (160k copies sold).
Until the sales figures from the PS4 launch of Final Fantasy XIV come in, and unless those numbers outdo the HD Remaster's, then Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster will be the most successful Final Fantasy launch of 2014. Hopefully, this reinforces to the folks at Square Enix that western audiences actually like JRPGs. Perhaps you'll recall that Bravely Default also experienced a successful outing in the west, selling 200k copies for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems back in February?
With E3 right around the corner, who knows what surprises Square Enix has planned?

Tokyo RPG Factory’s newest title, I Am Setsuna, is out now for PS4, PSVita, and Steam. I'm having lots of fun with X. I didn't really like it the first time I played it but now I love it.
Loving X also. What is interesting is that it is every bit as linear as XIII, but no one seemed to mind back then.
It's all smoke and mirrors...there was more to the combat and stat system so people didn't notice as much. I blasted through XIII and XIII-2 no problem but I'm struggling to grind my way through Lightning Returns...I just dont have the motivation
