FF XI Add-on Details

Quiter has made available some information about the new Add-on coming up for Final Fantasy XI. It will be released on April 17, 2003 for approx. 3,980 Yen. That is the price for the PlayStation 2. The price for the PC version is yet to be announced.

Famitsu and Dengeki gave us some more updated information along with Quiter. A summoner job has been confirmed for the game. Summons include Irfit, Carbuncle and Titan who has the ability to throw large rocks at his enemies. To become a summoner, one must go through difficult tasks and have to reach certain levels in other jobs.

Other job confirmations are of the Ninja and the Dragoon. Those with the Ninja job will probably be specialized with two-handed combat and in the art of Ninjitsu. There could be other jobs such as dancer and samurai, but that is yet to be confirmed.

Two new monsters have been added which are Cactaur and Tomberry. But rumours say that the designers have done something to both these popular FF fiends that they have now lost their cuteness. The rest of the monsters in the game have been kept a secret.

Some of the new locations included Ifrits' boiler. It is a crater that lies near the Yutanga volcano. The crater is a very dangerous place as there is constant flowing lava and the volcanic gases make it impossible to work, and therefore one should not stay there for long. Ifrit also lives in this crater and so one assumes that you have to fight him in order to obtain him as a summon, but this is still not confirmed.

Another location is the Ugapire temple. This temple is deep in the jungles of the Elshimo island. The temple seems to have many tomberrys as its inhabitants who seem potentially dangerous.

Another area is that of Pirates who stay west of Elshimo Island. There in the waters of Vana'diel they sell rare items and weapons which are mostly stolen.

Another new location is Kokoroka tunnel which is a tunnel from which the race, Galka, came. Long ago the Galka were hunted by beasts on the island Guzoque and then had to flee to the continent of Kuoso, which lead to this cave/tunnel being used. Many say the cave is stained with the blood of many galka.

Next, Yutanga forest is another new edition. It is a large jungle that surrounds the Yutanga volcano on the Elshimo island. There are several ancient ruins throughout the jungle for one to explore and view.

Finally, two new characters have been introduced. One is Gilgamesh to which not much information has been released. Another character is the leader of the Pirates who seems to be a male mithra. And that is considered as being very rare to find as most of you know.
