Final Fantasy XI released in Europe

The European version of the PlayOnline title, Final Fantasy XI for Windows was released today. The cross-platform, cross-continent massively multiplayer online role-playing game Final Fantasy XI allows gamers to connect to the same world regardless of platform or location. For the very first time European gamers will be given the opportunity to experience for themselves exactly what has made the title so successful in North America and Japan, boasting an online community of over 500,000 registered users and 1.2 million active characters.

“We’re delighted to launch the latest version of Final Fantasy XI in our market. The title has gone from strength to strength, and now a whole new community of players will be able to share the adventure in Vana'diel.” said John Yamamoto, President and CEO of Square Enix Ltd.

The game costs $12.95 USD a month but the first 30 days are free. Keep in mind that you will need a credit card in order to play.
