Square-Enix has updated the official website of its action RPG sequel Drakengard 2. In addition to character and story info, The website revealed that ground-based battles will be far more advanced this time around, as developer Cavia is promising improved controls and a newly implemented combo system.
The development team also aims to increase the number of boss battles, thereby making the game more rewarding for players. The stats of a playable character can now be increased by equipping accessories or using items, regardless of his or her current level. Furthermore the player will now have the freedom to switch between characters without any limitations. Another emphasis will be on the event scenes, which will now present the story in a more movie-like fashion.
In addition, it was revelaed that players will be able to explore towns, and purchase new items and weapons with the money gained via defeating enemies.

Drakengard 2 will be available in Japan on March 29th. Square-Enix has yet to announce any details regarding a possible North American release.
