Dengeki Playstation recently had an interview where character designer Tetsuya Nomura and Final Fantasy XIII director Motomu Toriyama revealed a few new details regarding the two Playstation 3 titles they are working on.

Both games will run on the same "White Engine" that Square Enix is currently working on. Nomura said that the battle scenes in Versus would be similar to the ones seen in the CG movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. He also confirmed that there will be a heroine in addition to the male character seen in the current trailers.

The male character is the heir to the throne of his country, the last place in the world to control the mythical crystals. He must defend his homeland which has come under attack. While wielding his sword his eyes will turn red.

Toriyama also hinted that Square Enix will release a new Final Fantasy XIII trailer featuring new characters by the end of the year. Stay tuned for more information!
