Square has recently announced that there will be a few returning staff members involved in the development of the game. Akihiko Yoshida who was the character designer in Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, and the Ogre Battle series will be in charge with the character design and 3D map designs. Hideo Minaba known from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy IX will be responsible for the Art and direction. And the director of the project will be Jun Akiyama, who also worked on Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics.
There is also rumours about a connection between Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Final Fantasy XII. Its said that some secret areas can only be reached using FFTA on the GameBoy Advance.

The buildings on the top part of the poster looks like futuristic skyscrapers from a huge city but on the bottom part you see smaller houses and lots of plants. The people seem to be dressed with medieval clothes. It looks like that this game will be very original and we are really looking forward to see some in game screenshots.
Final Fantasy XII is scheduled for release on the PlayStation2 sometime in 2003.
