In a story first reported by Destuctoid and expanded upon by members of NeoGAF, SquareEnix seems to have been planning a return visit to Ivalice sometime in the next few years. For now however, it seems that trip has been canceled.
Recently closed development house GRIN appear to have been working on an action oriented title set in the FFXII universe, tentatively named Fortress
A familiar figure, in full cape and armor, judges the landscape in these CONCEPT SHOTS. You may spot a few familiar Ivalice locales as well.
Work on the project was believed to have begun in the Spring of 2009, but how far along the project was is unknown~
