Kotaku's Stephen Totilo was lucky enough to be in the room at Square Enix's "The Future of Final Fantasy" event today, and has compiled a detailed summary of the event's Question-and-Answer style format.
Key among the revelations was that Final Fantasy XV (formerly Versus XIII) will not ship during the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31 2014. However, between then and now two major Final Fantasy games will come to market beginning with the relaunch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (Global August 27, ) and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (NA Feb 11 2014, EUR Feb 14 2014).
