When you think about it, LinkedIn is really only good for two things: The first is connecting with friends you probably already know in industries you probably already work in. Not that great, really. The second is the occasional leak of gaming news, which is pretty good.
When it comes time to update their Linkedin profiles, many in the gaming industry fall into the trap of letting information leak out. SQEX project manager Kaei Sou did not avoid said trap, letting the following bit of info slip onto his profile.
Whoops! At the very least, Square are showing some willingness here, joining the myriad of studios who outsource pieces of development to other studios to get their games out in a timely manner. FFXV will be anything but timely when it finally does release, but with a little outside help, we may see it sooner than expected.

There was some speculation that FINAL FANTASY XV’s delay from September to November may have been related to Sony’s as-of-then-unannounced hardware, the PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim. While the additional development time has yielded significant improvements to FINAL FANTASY XV, the whole situation is still a bit suspicious. Sony and Square Enix have announced a Limited Deluxe Edition Final Fantasy...
Hope this means that it'll get done sooner. The PS4 needs a good JRPG.
I wonder which parts of the game they are outsourcing.
It's pretty common to outsource localisation. And the company I used to work for outsourced some of the 3D model/texture creation too if I remember correctly. No idea what Square is doing though.
I'm pretty sure Square has no idea what they're doing either. Especially if outsourcing only started in September :x
If it's for localisation then I understand why they're just starting now but anything else would be weird. Don't they have like 2 internal teams working on the game?
