Squaresoft has announced many "firsts" for the game Final Fantasy X-2. For example, FFX-2 will be the first Final Fantasy game to feature a lead female character. More "firsts" have been released today as Square unveils some more information to us about its upcoming release of FFX-2's soundtrack. This time Square has decided to publish the OST with company Avex, rather than their usual company DigiCube to which they have been loyal to since 1996. Another first came in the fact that Nobuo Uematsu will not be a composer in the OST, and is being replaced by Noriko Matsueda and Takahito Eguchi.
The soundtrack will contain 55 tracks, and has been given a catalogue number of AVCD-17254. The CD will contain two main theme songs both sung by JPop singer Koda Kumi. The two songs are titled "1000 words" and "material emotion". It is known that Koda Kumi can sing in English, thus rumours have started about how English versions of the songs may be released for the North American FFX-2 game.
Final Fantasy X-2's soundtrack will be available in Japan by March 31, 2003 for 3,650 yen. The 'game' will be released at an earlier date of March 13, 2003 for 7,800 yen.
