Square Enix has confirmed that more than a million copies of Final Fantasy X-2 have been sold in North America. The title sold over 2 million copies in Japan thus raising the total to over 3 million worldwide. That number is to increase even further when the title is released in Europe (February 2004) and Asia.

"Hitting this milestone reinforces the high review scores and widespread recognition Final Fantasy X-2 has received for its storyline, gameplay, and graphics," said Jun Iwasaki, president and CEO, Square Enix USA. "It also shows that fans of Final Fantasy X were waiting to continue the journey in this sequel. We are pleased with the wonderful response that Final Fantasy X-2 has received from the public and at retail."

In addition with Final Fantasy X, the overal sales figure for the two titles comes up to over 10 million (seeing that Final Fantasy X sold close to 7 million worldwide).
