Square Enix president Yoichi Wada said in an interview with a newspaper named Asahi Shimbun that Final Fantasy XII will not be released this business year in Japan. The current business year ends on March 31st, 2005, making an effective publication of the title before April impossible. This will no doubt mean a large dip in projected profits for the company, although for the consumer it may mean a more evened up distribution of the company's three pillars during 2005, as Final Fantasy XII, Kingdom Hearts II and Advent Children have all yet to appear.
There are still no Final Fantasy XII release dates for North America or Europe.
