According to the latest ESRB Rating Approvals, Square Enix has successfully attained a Teen rating for its upcoming sequel to the highly popular anime to game series, Fullmetal Alchemist 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixir.
Known in Japan as Hagane no Renkin Jutsushi 2: Akaki Elixer no Akuma, Fullmetal Alchemist 2 was released to overseas audiences in September of last year. It was heralded by fans as a much better game than the original too, as it fixed several of the problems that plagued the first installment including an increased number of items, better AI, and a more streamlined graphics engine. Full impressions of the import can be found by clicking here.
An exact US release date for Cruse of the Crimson Elixir has not been announced, and Square Enix had no official comment when we contacted its representatives earlier this morning. Given the fact that ESRB submissions are only made when the intent to bring a game to the marketplace is present, however, we expect a more formal announcement sometime in the coming weeks. We'll keep you updated as it happens.
