Square-Enix, possibly looking to underwrite the mounting cost of its oft-delayed newest Final Fantasy title, has partnered with Suntory Ltd. to create what is sure to be gaming's tastiest beverage, Final Fantasy XII Potion. Suntory, famous for their whiskeys, Boss canned coffees, and oolong teas, will target a relaxing but energizing taste for the drink. Six potential bottles designs were on display, all in blue crystal, as well as character art cards to be included in the Final Fantasy XII Potion Premium Box - there are more pictures over at Impress Watch's coverage. No price has been decided for the licensed Potion, but players will be able to slake their thirst before the game's release in March of 2006.
And in related news, The Final Fantasy XII website has been updated with an all new layout, and new content such as artwork and trailers. The update includes:
Two new wallpapers. Vayne and Larsa (also known as Ramon) character profiles. Artwork for Judges, Vayne, Larsa, the different races of Ivalice and revised artwork for Ashe and Basch. The 2005 E3 and Square-Enix Party trailers.
Information as also been added on Square and their colaboration with Suntory on the Final Fantasy Potion herb drink and their work with Angela Aki, singer of the Final Fantasy XII theme song and Taro Hakase the composer of the theme music which will be used in Final Fantasy XII.
Slightly less notable than the groundbreaking union of soft drinks and Japanese role-playing was the announcement of Final Fantasy XII's suggested retail price of 8990 yen (approximately 75 USD) and violinist Hakase Taro's contribution to the game's main theme.
