FFXV PS4 Slim Incoming

There was some speculation that FINAL FANTASY XV’s delay from September to November may have been related to Sony’s as-of-then-unannounced hardware, the PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim. While the additional development time has yielded significant improvements to FINAL FANTASY XV, the whole situation is still a bit suspicious. Sony and Square Enix have announced a Limited Deluxe Edition Final Fantasy XV Bundle, set to launch simultaneously with the game on November 29. Per Sony’s blog:

This custom version of the new slimmer, lighter PS4 model comes with a 1TB HDD, and features a large illustration on the front of the system. The box also includes Final Fantasy XV with an exclusive Steelbook, the new DUALSHOCK 4 adorned with an XV graphic, the Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV Movie Blu-ray, and multiple pieces of DLC – the Royal Raiment Outfit, Masamune Weapon, and Leviathan Regalia Skin. This bundle will be available exclusively at GameStop (EB Games in Canada) for $449 USD/$549 CAD.

In addition, FINAL FANTASY XV will support the PS4 Pro hardware at launch, including visual improvements such as HDR support. But regular PS4 owners shouldn’t feel excluded: our version of FINAL FANTASY XV looks more gorgeous with each exhibition. Dualshockers’ direct feed from the PS4’s most recent build at TGS 2016 is linked below…

Does anyone else think this hardware grab was kinda pointless when they've already announced the PS4 Pro?

Slim is their base model going forward, with the original model stopping production, so it makes sense to support it with special editions. It actually looks decent for once, too.
