Square Enix made an appearance at Sony's PlayStation Experience press conference and revealed that they'll be releasing Final Fantasy VII on the PlayStation 4 next spring.
Starting to get hyped? Well unfortunately there's no need for that. It's not a HD-remake, its just the same 4:3 (nope no 16:9 format) version that is already available on PC.

@k3fka! I watched the steam as well and I was almost sure that they were gonna announce a remake when he started talking with the FFVII logo in the background.
Seems kinda pointless to announce a port of a port during a big event like this.
It's a smart deflection technique. Notice how nobody is asking why FFXV or KHIII weren't shown yet again? Marketing, yo.
