One year after the HD Remasters of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 arrived, Square Enix used the anniversary to announce that PS4 editions will release on May 12 in North America and abroad on May 15. It's a little later than their ambiguously stated original goal of Spring 2015, but it nevertheless tucks another warmly received title into the PS4's lineup.
Except for some changes to contrast, the games are unaltered from their 2014 releases. However, Square implemented a soundtrack change feature that will allow players to switch between the original and remastered scores. The HD Remaster set will also ship in limited collector's editions, with the North American version receiving a paper wall calendar decorated with the art of Yoshitaka Amano.
