The story takes place one year after the events of Final Fantasy XII and Vaan is now a sky pirate with his own airship. There is currently no release date for Europe or North America.

Square Enix has just announced the Japanese release date of their upcoming Nintendo DS game Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. The game will hit the shelves on the 26th of April 2007 and will sell for about 4,700 yen. Lets hope the game will get a release date in the rest of the world in a not too distant future.
