PlayOnline celebrates one year anniversary

SquareSoft launched it's online services a year ago (on the 16th May 2002). Over 600,000 Final Fantasy XI accounts have been registered since the launch and over 300,000 copies of the game have been sold so far in Japan. Happy Birthday Square Enix! As previously announced Square Enix opened the official Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles site on May the 16th. The site is flash based and in Japanese. Nintendo has just released some movies from their upcoming Square Enix titles, Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (GameCube), Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (GameBoy Advance) and Sword of Mana (GameBoy Advance). Final Fantasy XI price cuts

Square Enix will release a new budget version of Final Fantasy XI in Japan in June, for 4800 yen ($38,84 USD). This version will not include the recently released expansion pack but it will have all the latest patches of the game, so it's not necessary to download any updates from the PlayOnline server after installation.
